Disney (1955) Lady and the Tramp - Original Vintage Production Art
Lady and the Tramp (1955) premiered in theaters on June 22, 1955, and quickly became one of Walt Disney’s most beloved animated features. The film was later ranked #95 on the American Film Institute’s list of the 100 Greatest Love Stories of All Time, reflecting its lasting cultural and emotional impact. Upon release, it was also Disney’s most successful theatrical blockbuster since Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937).
The story originated in the 1930s, when it was first developed by Joe Grant, though it would be many years before the project was officially approved by Walt Disney and brought into full production during the early 1950s. The film features the voice talents of Barbara Luddy as Lady, Larry Roberts as Tramp, and Bill Thompson, who voiced several memorable characters, including Jock, Joe, Bull, Dachsie, and the Policeman.
